Cyber Essentials Certificates Milestone

500 Cyber Essentials & Cyber Essentials Plus Certificates Issued

We’re delighted to announce a new milestone for Predatech! We’ve now issued 500 Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus certificates.

Run by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) in conjunction with IASME, Cyber Essentials is a Government-backed scheme that is designed to protect organisations of any size against the most common cyber threats. Certification also helps to demonstrate a commitment to cyber security.

The Cyber Essentials scheme has two levels of certification:

Cyber Essentials: A self-assessed questionnaire which helps organisations to mitigate common attacks by putting a set of technical controls which cover the following themes: Firewalls, Secure Configuration, User Access Control, Malware Protection & Security Update Management.

Cyber Essentials Plus: Sometimes referred to as an audit of Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus includes a level hands-on technical verification which includes a series of external and internal vulnerability scans alongside a number of device checks.

Alongside assessing organisations, Predatech helps its clients to navigate the evolving requirements of the scheme by including support as standard. To find out more about the upcoming 2023 changes to the Cyber Essentials scheme, please click here.

Jason Johnson, Predatech Co-Founder & Lead Penetration Tester, said “In just over two years, Predatech has become one of the largest certification bodies for the Cyber Essentials scheme. I’m delighted that so many organisations have placed their trust in us to help them achieve certification.”

Since launching in December 2020, Manchester-based Predatech has built a diverse client base which includes some of the largest companies in the UK.

Alongside being an IASME Certification Body for the Cyber Essentials scheme, Predatech is also accredited by CREST for penetration testing. Penetration testing (sometimes referred to as ethical hacking), involves attempting to breach a system’s security, using the same tools and techniques as a hacker. This helps organisations to evaluate the security of an IT system. Any vulnerabilities discovered during testing can be remediated to help improve the security posture of the system.

Predatech is built on a simple customer promise which outlines what clients can expect from us: Expert cyber security, excellent service, and value for money.
