British Data Awards 2021 Winners Announced

With Finalists announced back in April, today is the day we’ve all been waiting for. Today is the day we announce the Winners and Runner-Ups in the British Data Awards 2021.

Run by Predatech, the British Data Awards is an annual campaign that celebrates the organisations and people that are deeply passionate about data and uncovers data success stories. Those throwing their hats into the ring this year include FTSE 100 giants, tech unicorns, innovative start-ups, large public sector bodies, agile not-for-profit organisations and everything in between. We’re delighted that such a diverse group of organisations took part this year.

Winners include Absolar, a start-up that assesses the energy efficiency of building stock in cities to identify emission reduction measures, as well as Yoello, a Welsh business that’s fast becoming a leader in the mobile order and pay industry. Both these businesses were launched in 2020. Walsall Metropolitan Borough Council won ‘Data for Good Initiative of the Year’ and this category attracted the most entries overall. Their innovative use of administrative datasets to help better protect vulnerable people, while also saving time and money, received the highest score from the judges.

Jason Johnson, Co-Founder of Predatech and British Data Awards judge said: “After such a turbulent year, our Winners and Runner-Ups remind us that great products, exceptional people and unrelenting determination remain the key ingredients behind any success story. And with many categories proving to be close calls, all our Finalists should be very proud of flying the flag for British talent and ingenuity so high.”

The full list of British Data Awards 2021 Finalists can be found here, and for one last time, we’d like to thank our judges for reviewing the entries and sharing their expertise:
